We are the 7th board of Wageningen Outdoors En Survivalrun Team. In case you don’t know who are, take a look at our lovely profiles.
Hey, my name is Kyra. This year I’ll be taking on the challenge of keeping WOEST alive and thriving. Last school year, I was on the board of the dance association, where I gained valuable experience as commissioner of affairs. Now, I felt ready for a new challenge, namely stepping into the role of chair.
I enjoy keeping track of everything that’s going on and love brainstorming new ideas to improve the association. Outside of WOEST, I’m a member of four different sports associations (yes, I really love being active!) and I’m also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marine Science. Coming from the beautiful island of Curaçao, I’ve always had a deep love for the ocean, water, and the outdoors. If you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me, whether in person or through Whatsapp!
Hey everyone!
I’m Merel van Zomeren, the secretary of the 7th board of WOEST. I’m 21 years old and currently doing the Master Food Technology. I already liked survivalrun from a young age, as every New Year’s Day I went exploring the obstacles in Beltrum with some experienced family members. However, there was no survivalrun association close to my parents. So, when I came to Wageningen in 2021 I immediately joined WOEST! I have enjoyed our “playground for adults” ever since, as well as the social aspect of our association.
As WOEST is an important part of my life, I want to contribute to this amazing association, so I joined the board. I hope to get WOEST members to join even more activities together!
Next to survivalrun, I enjoy climbing, mountainbiking, running, horse riding, cooking, painting, reading, and more. A fun fact about me is that every summer I bake a gaint cake.

Hey hoi, I’m Henrieke, the new treasurer of WOEST! I joined the board because I wanted to give back to our community and to learn to solve problems as part of a larger collective. So, becoming board sounded like an awesome opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Plus, I loooove organizing spreadsheets and and responsible with money. Therefore, the role of treasurer seemed like a no brainer. Currently I’m studying for my Master’s in Biology and am very much obsessed with frogs. A fun fact about me is that I’m great at spotting and catching frogs with my bare hands!
Heyy! My name is Femke Frieswijk and I’m in my second year of the bachelor Landscape architecture. My function in the new board is Commissioner Intern. I want to do a board year because I would like to get more experience with working in bigger organizations and get to know WOEST better. It would be amazing if we as board can achieve it to keep all the committees full and functioning. A fun fact about me is that I was 10 years old when I did my first survivalrun in De Knipe. Little did I know I would actually join the board of a survivalrun association 10 years later.
Greetings! My name is Emily. I study bachelor Landscape Architecture and will be the external affairs commissioner of WOEST this year. I really enjoy doing this sport and being part of the association, and would like to give something in return. By being part of the board, I also hope to get to know WOEST and all of you (potential) members better. 🙂
Besides survivalrun I love to do (other) sports and being outdoors. Not surprising since survivalrun is just a combination of these two :). Otherwise you can find me often just chilling among animals, especially sheep. I even have some at home, of which one is named Geit (goat in Dutch).
